Our Overall Aim

  • To enable BAMER and other vulnerable groups from mainstream society achieve their goals and aspirations through one-to-one mentor support and volunteering opportunities

Specific Aims

  • To enable BAMER and other vulnerable groups and individuals with less experience to develop skills and make them employable
  • To improve welfare and health among refugees, migrants, asylum seekers and other vulnerable groups of people
  • To cascade the best practice of mentoring by assisting other agencies to set up their own mentoring schemes
  • To improve community cohesion by bringing families together

Our Objectives

  • To provide one-to-one mentoring support to BAMER and with Welfare, Health, Employment, Access to further/higher education and Training needs (in short WHEAT needs)
  • To run sports, dance, arts, gardening and other activities for children and young people aged between 3 and 15 and 16 and 19 respectively
  • To provide advice and advocacy through social work students who come from various universities on a placement scheme
  • To provide volunteering opportunities to individuals with less experience and confidence to increase their chances of employability
  • To provide consulting services, deliver training and run workshops for other agencies interested in setting up their own mentoring schemes
  • To organise events and trips for the families of mentors, mentees, volunteers, staff, trustees, children and the young people
